Built in 1903 out of limestone Betty’s Boutique Hotel Mossel Bay oozes old fashioned elegance and glamour of a bygone era. We have lovingly furnished Betty’s with our own personal antiques and treasures, many of which we have brought from England. We the owners live on the premises so it really is a home from home. We have amazing views of the Indian Ocean and the Outeniqua Mountains from our huge covered Stoep/ Terrace, which is where you can feast on our delicious full English breakfast, and traditional afternoon Teas.
We have recently added a small children’s play area and tree house at the bottom of our extensive gardens .

This is a family‑owned boutique hotel with friendly staff and a decent breakfast. You can tell they are trying hard to preserve the history of the old building and create a warm, welcoming atmosphere. However, I wouldn’t recommend the room I booked, “The Spa.” Although booking website shows all rooms as same in size, this one felt much smaller and is located outside the main building, giving it a more temporary feel. The room is narrow, and the interior shows some wear with a very home‑style design. It also looked quite different from the photos on the booking website. The stay was okay overall, but other rooms may be better.Posted on Google Jamie LairdTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We had a truly lovely time at bettys boutique in mossel bay! The staff were so friendly and welcoming, and did everything possible to make us feel at home. The hotel itself has a theme that they stick to but makes the place feel colourful and unique. The place was very clean and the breakfast was very nice with a good few choices. We also enjoyed a cheese board and wine that the hotel provided which was well put together. We had the royal suite room which was very big and comfortable. The price for 3 nights was far better than anything we saw in the area and we would stay again. Only one small improvement I would recommend is in the bathroom there was a small bit of mould and mildew on the ceiling. But other than that it was excellent!Posted on Google Anton BezuidenhoutTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. This is probably our favourite in the entire Mosselbay. The setting is picturesque, the food is top quality and the hosts are incredible. We had our wedding here and it was so beautiful, intimate and just perfect. All the staff went out of their way to accompany us and they were just the best we could ever have asked for. The food was amazing, atmosphere was top notch and we had the most incredible room and breakfast the following morning. I would recommend them over and over again.Posted on Google Dennis WernerTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Eine Hotelunterkunft mit sehr außergewöhnlichem englischem Flair. Das Zimmer war sehr groß und ordentlich. Wir konnten unser Auto in einer Garage nachts unterstellen. Das Frühstück war sehr lecker.Posted on Google Danielle SchmidTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Local tranquilo.
The large stoep is one of our most used spaces as you will eat breakfast there, later relax with a glass of wine, curl up on Bettys sofa and read a book or just be…the views out to sea and the mountains beyond are truly amazing.
Another place to relax is by our large swimming pool, which is situated away from the bedrooms offering more privacy. Sunbathe on our loungers, sip a glass of South African wine or bubbles and take a dip when the fancy takes you.
It also features our South African Braai area where you can join us for a evening of South African grilled meats, salads and breads, corn on the cob and more, all washed down with local wines.
At Betty’s Boutique Hotel you will never feel cramped by other guests, there is always a different place to sit.
Inside Betty’s Boutique Hotel we have a beautiful bar lounge furnished sympathetically with the era with comfortable armchairs and lit with soft light from lamps.
It also has our precious pool table, brought specially from England. Betty’s husband Don used to play on it with his son Dave, at the age of 90 he beat his son again finally and was ecstatic… sadly 7 days later he passed away. However, his memory lives on as his Photograph now has pride of place overseeing the table, watching for anyone breaking the rules!
