We love it here, you will too!

Welcome to Betty's Boutique Hotel

Our Story

Built in 1903 out of limestone Betty’s Boutique Hotel Mossel Bay oozes old fashioned elegance and glamour of a bygone era. We have lovingly furnished Betty’s with our own personal antiques and treasures, many of which we have brought from England. We the owners live on the premises so it really is a home from home. We have amazing views of the Indian Ocean and the Outeniqua Mountains from our huge covered Stoep/ Terrace, which is where you can feast on our delicious full English breakfast, and traditional afternoon Teas.
We have recently added a small children’s play area and tree house at the bottom of our extensive gardens .

What can I say... Should receive 6 stars, not 5. Warm, exquisite, so much attention to detail from start to finish. I've stayed in many a hotel but this one is in a league of its own. Thank you for everything you did to make our stay super special.

What a wonderful gem of place to stay in Mossel Bay. Quirky and quaint this English themed and run house is a pleasure to stay at. Very welcoming and accommodating we felt right at home and the secret bar, well what a treat that was too. A must see place if you are stopping over in the Mossal Bay Area.

What a truly authentic and memorable English High Tea experience on the day of King Charles III ascendancy. A privilege to feast on the three-tiered pyramid of delectable goodies conjured up by Daisy in the magnificent setting of this Heritage property with the most charming of hosts. We will most definitely find an excuse for an overnight stay in the Rose Room and G&Ts in the cellar speakeasy!

Such spoils! What a wonderful experience at Betty Boutique, a real gem of a place. The personal attention that each of their guests receives is absolutely rare. The waitress, with her beautiful operatic voice, provided much pleasure with her singing. Hands down one of the nicest moments I could share with my mom. Thank you Dave and Lewis!

From the moment we arrived we were made to feel so welcome and nothing was too much trouble. The accommodation was perfect, comfortable, quirky and the showers were amazing! Breakfast was super and we loved the Speakeasy honesty bar! We were a family of 4 with 2 teens and I'd recommend Betty's to anyone travelling to Mossel Bay.

Serene View

The large stoep is one of our most used spaces as you will eat breakfast there, later relax with a glass of wine, curl up on Bettys sofa and read a book or just be…the views out to sea and the mountains beyond are truly amazing.

Another place to relax is by our large swimming pool, which is situated away from the bedrooms offering more privacy. Sunbathe on our loungers, sip a glass of South African wine or bubbles and take a dip when the fancy takes you.

It also features our South African Braai area where you can join us for a evening of South African grilled meats, salads and breads, corn on the cob and more, all washed down with local wines.

Entertainment

At Betty’s Boutique Hotel you will never feel cramped by other guests, there is always a different place to sit.

Inside Betty’s Boutique Hotel we have a beautiful bar lounge furnished sympathetically with the era with comfortable armchairs and lit with soft light from lamps.

It also has our precious pool table, brought specially from England. Betty’s husband Don used to play on it with his son Dave, at the age of 90 he beat his son again finally and was ecstatic… sadly 7 days later he passed away. However, his memory lives on as his Photograph now has pride of place overseeing the table, watching for anyone breaking the rules!
